Our delivery services

No matter where you are in mainland UK, we offer a fixed standard delivery price for small, medium and large items. (See below for deliveries to Ireland and non-mainland UK). If you choose our standard delivery, your new children's furniture (if in stock) will typically be delivered within 10 days by one of our specialist furniture couriers.

All Northern Ireland deliveries will require the customer to provide us with an EROI number.

Please note, some parts of the country such as Scotland & Cornwall, or outer postcode areas, may take a little longer so please allow 15 working days if you live in these areas. For deliveries to Scotland, it may also be necessary to send your furniture via a palletised delivery service.

We can also arrange for your children's furniture to be assembled, we'll automatically calculate the cost of our furniture assembly service for your order in your basket page.  If you want your furniture assembled upon delivery then simply select this option as you checkout. Small deliveries

  • Single items weighing less than 10kg will be sent via our parcel delivery service.
  • Small items include: children's bedding, bean bags, rugs and most of our children's bedroom accessories (Not sure if the product is a small item? Look out for the S hot air balloon icon on the product page).
  • Once your order is ready, it will be winging its way to you within 5 -7 working days.
  • These items will be delivered between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • All for the small price of £1.99

Medium delivery

  • Medium items weighing 30kg or less include bookcases, toy boxes, chairs and most single beds (Not sure if the product is a medium item? Look out for the M hot air balloon icon on the product page).
  • Once your product is ready, the courier will give you a buzz to discuss possible delivery dates. 
  • To really keep you in the loop, the driver will then call you when they are on their way.
  • If your childrens furniture is in stock, it will be winging its way to you typically within 10 days from the date of order.  If you live in Scotland or an outer postcode then please leave 15 working days.
  • Keeping it flexible - our standard option means that your furniture will be carried into your house whereas with our room of choice option, your furniture will be taken to a room of your choice (including any upstairs or basement rooms – don’t worry we’ll wear shoe covers!) 
  • Medium deliveries cost just £9.99 (standard) or £14.99 (room of choice delivery), £24.99 (early morning or late evening delivery), £39.99 for delivery and recycle (we'll recycle your old like for like furniture), £39.99 for Saturday delivery and £39.99 for next day delivery.
  • However if you spend over £500, we’ll deliver your items for free! Yes free (standard delivery only).

Large deliveries

  • Large items weighing more than 30kg i.e. wardrobes, bunk beds, chest of drawers and desks (Not sure if the product is a large item? Look out for the L hot air balloon icon on the product page)
  • Once your product is ready, the courier will give you a buzz to discuss possible delivery dates. 
  • To really keep you in the loop, the driver will then call you when they are on their way.
  • If your childrens furniture is in stock, it will be winging its way to you typically within 10 days from the date of order.  If you live in Scotland or an outer postcode then please leave 15 working days.

  • Medium deliveries cost just £19.99 (standard) or £24.99 (room of choice delivery), £34.99 (early morning or late evening delivery), £49.99 for delivery and recycle (we'll recycle your old like for like furniture), £49.99 for Saturday delivery and £49.99 for next day delivery.
  • However if you spend over £500, we’ll deliver your items for free! Yes free (standard delivery only).

Saturday deliveries

  • If you would prefer a Saturday delivery then select our Saturday option.
  • For large items, or orders with a multiple items, Saturday deliveries will be made via a pallet delivery service.  So bear in mind you’ll need space for the pallet to be off loaded, either on your drive or in your garage for example.  Just so you know your furniture will not be taken to a room of choice so make sure you have someone around to help once the delivery arrives.
  • Once your furniture is ready, it will be delivered on the next available Saturday. Sometimes this means that it is not the Saturday after your furniture order has been placed, so it could be more than our normal 10-15 working days.
  • The courier will give you a buzz and let you know the earliest available Saturday delivery date for your order to be delivered.
  • The cost for our Saturday delivery service is £39.99 for medium items or £49.99 for large/multiple items
  • Saturday delivery is not available in all postcodes (mostly remote areas) or on all of our products (including some of our children's beds). So we can’t always guarantee a Saturday delivery.  But don’t worry we will give you a call to arrange an alternative delivery and of course refund your Saturday premium charge if this the case.

Early morning & late evening deliveries

  • If you need a little more flexibility, we can offer you an early morning delivery (between 7am and 10am), or an evening delivery (between 6pm and 9pm). A medium delivery costs £24.99 and a large costs £34.99.
  • Simply select either ’early morning delivery’ or ‘evening delivery’ at checkout.
  • Our lovely couriers will also deliver these items to the room of your choice.
  • Please note this option is only available Monday-Friday.

Express delivery - next day

  • Excited to receive your order and don’t want to wait, it’s ok we understand! Just place your order before 10am, and providing the furniture is in stock, we can deliver your order on the next working day.
  • If you miss the 10am deadline, don’t panic! We will deliver your items on the next available working day.  So, if you place an order on Friday afternoon with express delivery service then we will deliver on the following Tuesday.
  • Express deliveries can be delivered any time during that working day between 8am – 5pm.
  • For large items, or orders with a multiple items, express deliveries will be made via a pallet delivery service.  So bear in mind you’ll need space for the pallet to be off loaded, either on your drive or in your garage for example.  Just so you know your furniture will not be taken to a room of choice so make sure you have someone around to help once the delivery arrives.
  • The cost of an express delivery for a medium item (<30kg) is £39.99 and for a large item (>30kg) or an order with multiple items is £49.99.  This is the total cost for your order and will not vary depending on the number of products you purchase.

Delivery & recycle

  • We are now able to offer room of choice delivery with the added option of having your old furniture recycled.
  • Furniture must be like for like e.g. if you purchase one of our beds we will recycle your old bed.
  • 99% of items get recycled into something new using our courier’s partnership with EMR.  
  • This delivery option costs £39.99 for a medium item, or £49.99 for a large item/multiple items.

Click & collect

  • Unfortunately we do not offer a click and collect service at this time.

Non mainland UK, Northern Ireland & international deliveries

  • If you live in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland or on one of the islands off the mainland of the UK our delivery charge for medium and large items is £49.99. Small items are £9.99. All Northern Ireland orders will require the customer to provide us with an EROI number.
  • It is sometimes necessary for deliveries made to some remote postcodes to receive a pallet delivery.
  • Once your order has been dispatched it will be delivered within 10-15 working days.  We are unable to arrange collections from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland or any island off the mainland UK.  Any returns from these locations will need to be arranged by you.  
  • For customers in the Channel Islands, we are able to process a VAT refund, upon receipt of your delivery note for your furniture. This is subject to a £35 administration charge which will be deducted from your VAT refund.

Furniture Assembly Service - Our Furniture White Knights

We understand that building furniture is not everyone’s cup of tea, but we know some people who live for the challenge and positively love constructing beautiful pieces of furniture – these people (or furniture-building superheroes) are our delivery white knights.  

We offer a special delivery service whereby our shining knights will deliver your furniture (so no need to select our standard plus delivery service at checkout), assemble it AND take all the rubbish away all on the same day.

What more can you ask for? Here’s our White Knight pricing:

Tier 1 - £35 per item:
Trundle beds, bookcases, storage units, underbed drawers, toy boxes.
Tier 2 - £45 per item:
Single beds, day beds, 4 poster beds, desks
Tier 3 - £90 per item:
Bunk beds , high sleepers, mid sleepers, wardrobes
Tier 4 - £135 per item:
Captain’s beds, Neutron bunk bed, high sleeper and mid sleeper bed– they're a bit of a beast!

*Please ensure the room where your furniture is due to be built needs to be clear, ready for our team to come in and start building straight away. Our delivery team will need enough space to manoeuvre and assemble your new furniture so failure to comply with this will result in a failed delivery. We will need to arrange a new assembly date based on couriers availability and you may be charged a further £19.99 call out charge.

Choose the White Knight delivery option at the basket page when you checkout to order the service and the assembly price will be added to the total cost of your furniture order. Our white knights will then contact you with a proposed day to deliver and assemble your products.  Please note though that this is a 15 day delivery service rather than our standard 10 day delivery service without assembly. 

Then just sit back, make them a cuppa and enjoy the finished product!  

The not so small print: Sorry but our white knights cannot deliver & assemble to these remote postcodes: HS, ZE, BT, GY, JE, IM, PO30-41.

Returning your items

So you'd like to return your items? It's ok, we understand! We know it can be daunting buying something online without seeing it first, but buying online is fun, easy and with us fuss free! If your item comes and it’s not quite the right colour, too big, too small or just not how you imagined it when you saw it online, that’s absolutely fine, we offer a 30 day “change your mind” period.

We know it’s exciting when a delivery arrives (especially one from us) but just in case there are any issues make sure you do the following:

  1. Check for any signs of damage before you accept and sign for the delivery
  2. Keep the original packaging in case you need to return the item
  3. Make sure you want the item(s) before you start assembling. We can’t offer refunds on unwanted goods that have been assembled in any way so please make sure you’re keeping the item before you get your screwdriver out!

Following these 3 simple steps will make it easier for us to make good on any mishaps or sorting out any refunds.

I am missing part of my order

  • Firstly can we please ask you to check that you haven’t requested for your order to be a split delivery (i.e. when part of your order is in stock and part is awaiting delivery into the warehouse)
  • If you haven’t requested a split order, we are very sorry that we have not sent the correct number of cartons, please can contact us either by email (to care@thechildrensfurniturecompany.com) or by phone on 0843 289 2646
    .
  • To fully understand which items/cartons you are missing, we will ask you for images and descriptions of all the cartons you have received so that we can then clearly identify the appropriate carton to send out to you as a matter of urgency.

My items are damaged

  • Ouch we can only apologise, please can you email us a photo of the damaged item to care@thechildrensfurniturecompany.com along with your order number and description and/or part code of the items affected (you can find these on the carton and on the assembly instructions), we can then arrange for a replacement to be sent to you asap. This needs to be reported within the first 30 days of receiving delivery of your furniture.
  • In the meantime we would highly recommend that any damaged items are stored in a safe location away from any children until we have resolved the query.

It's not what I was expecting

  • Of course, no problem! You can return you order for whatever reason with 30 days of receipt of your order.
  • Just download and complete the form in the link above and email it back to us at care@thechildrensfurniturecompany.com.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on items which have been assembled or part-assembled so please make sure you are happy with your order before assembling. We also cannot accept returned mattresses and bedding once the packaging has been opened (due to hygiene and safety reasons).

Can you collect my return?

  • Yes we can arrange a collection if you wish us to, though it will take approximately 10 working days
  • If you specify a collection on the returns form, we will pass your details on to our courier, who will contact you directly to arrange a suitable date to collect the order.
  • You will need to ensure that the goods are kept in good condition until they are collected and that all items are re-packaged, ideally in the original packaging. Unfortunately our courier cannot collect any item which is not packaged.

Is there a charge for collection?

  • If your item is faulty or damaged then no there will not be a collection charge.
  • If your return is a non-fault return then we will charge to collect the order. This will be £1.99 for a small item, £9.99 for a medium item and £19.99 for a large item or multiple items. This delivery charge will be deducted from your refund total.

When will I be refunded?

  • Once your goods have been collected / returned, please allow 2 working days for your returned order to be processed before your refund is actioned. This will be actioned in accordance with our terms and conditions.

Can I cancel my order?

  • You have the right to cancel your order from the moment we acknowledge receipt of your order until 30 days after the date upon you receive the goods. Please see our terms and conditions for full details.

Where should I send my return to?

  • Whoops where have they disappeared to? Please email us with your order number and details to care@thechildrensfurniturecompany.com and we can send assembly instructions via email to you.
  • If you need an anti-tipping kit for any piece of our furniture, please call us on 0843 289 2646 and we will arrange for one to be sent to you as soon as possible.
