Information
We make children's beds and bedroom furniture for the long term. In time, they'll be taking it to college or installing it in their own homes, if you let them. Because this isn't furniture in miniature, but full-size pieces with playful accents.
There are now five ranges to choose from, all hand-made and finished by master craftsmen, all designed and built to last. So when the time comes, bunks can be debunked and safety rails removed; engraved panels can be swapped for plain ones, and brightly-coloured panels flipped to reveal more muted tones.
We've put a lot of thought and attention to detail into each piece, which we deliver ourselves to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Everything, apart from our beds, is pre-assembled - the beds you can easily assemble yourself or have us do it in your home for a small extra charge.

How to order
Phone us: call between 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday on: 020 7737 7303. Out of hours, if you hear a voice message, don't be put off - your request will be dealt with swiftly.
Web: email us your order requirements by using the 'shopping basket' facility on the website. This will compile orders accurately for you and then we will call or email you to discuss delivery times and any specific requirements.
Payment terms
- • We accept all major credit and debit cards (except Amex).
- • Your card is only charged when the goods are in stock and ready for despatch.
- • For people paying on-line, if the goods are not available within our 3 to 4 week delivery time, we will notify you and refund your card until such time as stock comes in and we can confirm a delivery date.
- • For bespoke painted items, we request a deposit of 30% to secure the order and the balance just prior to delivery.
- • Cheques should be made out to ‘The Children’s Furniture Company Ltd’ and sent to 17 Trent Road, London, SW2 5BJ. We also are happy to receive BACS transfers if you prefer, please call us on 020 7737 7303 for details
Returns policy
If your furniture is faulty, we will take it away with us and replace the piece as soon as possible; or refund you in full if you prefer. Faults must be notified to us within 7 days for the same terms as above to apply.
If you simply change your mind when the furniture arrives and don't want it, we will take it back and give you a refund, excluding the original cost of delivery. We reserve the right to charge a collection fee of £60.
Please note that mattresses cannot be returned.
Our personal guarantee
We specify the highest quality hinges, runners, slats, handles etc. and don't expect to hear that you have any problems with anything. However, if you need any remedial work or to replace faulty items, lost washers or bolts etc, we will replace them free of charge within the first year of purchase. Thereafter we will charge any broken or lost items on to you at cost and charge for remedial work if it is required.
Privacy Policy
We keep a database of customer details with address, phone number and email – whether you have ordered from us or just requested a brochure. Please let us know if you wish to be taken off our lists at any time.
From time to time we may email or mail you with special offers and/or send a new brochure, but we DO NOT sell or give away address information to any other business.
We work with secure on-line payment systems in order that your financial details are kept safe once a purchase has been made.
Design Specification
Our policy of constant design improvement means we reserve the right to change specifications. Please be aware that colours can vary very slightly between batches. Always ask for samples if in doubt. Sizes are given to the nearest 'cm' and may also differ slightly from those printed.
For the natural wooden products, note that whilst we try to ensure that the tonality of wood matches across products, different trees used in the manufacture may mean the end products vary slightly. Small knots in the wood are part of its character and not considered a fault. In addition, wood naturally changes colour over time and if and when you add to your range the colour of the wood does not initially match, it will mellow with time.
No Assembly Charges!
WE PUT UP BEDS & BUNKS FOR YOU - EVERYTHING ELSE COMES FULLY ASSEMBLED.
We've noticed that some of our competition are acting a bit like budget airlines and adding on a bit here and there, wherever they can. So whilst their basic start price may be less than we charge, almost nothing comes assembled... frankly, that's where the time and money goes into making a piece of furniture, so why should you do that?
To hammer home that all our furniture is traditionally made and that we don't do the dreaded 'Flat Pack', we've decided not to charge for any assembly at all. All the desks, chests, wardrobes, etc., come assembled anyway and this means they are extra sturdy; and now we are offering to assemble beds, bunks and high beds FREE OF CHARGE* within all the postcodes we deliver to ourselves.
*This offer does not extend to Scotland, Cornwall, N.Ireland and Europe - although remember it's only the beds & bunks that arrive unassembled, which are easy to do.
* If you are not in when we call and we arrange to leave your furniture in a garage or with a neighbour, then we cannot come back to assemble beds & bunks.

Whilst we try to maintain all our printed prices, these may vary over the life time of the brochure. Always check the web.
Delivery Service
We have our own vans and trained delivery people and can work with you to find suitable delivery dates and be relatively specific about timings, always quoting AM or PM and usually giving an hour slot (traffic allowing).
Unlike many companies, all carcase furniture arrives fully assembled; we place the items where you want them within your home and remove any wrapping. Bunks, cabin beds and single beds (traditionally unassembled) can be assembled for you if desired. Please ensure the room is clear before we come and before we leave, have a good look over your new furniture. NB: this service is not always available in postcodes furthest London i.e. Cornwall, Scotland, Eire, N. Wales and the Continent.
Most items are dispatched within 3 to 4 weeks; if an item is out of stock, we expect the maximum delay to be 6 to 8 weeks. The delivery charges are as follows:
Small items: single items like duvet covers are £6 via Royal Mail. Packages of 2 items or more are £10 sent via national courier. Large items: *£35 for first piece, £10 thereafter for each item to a maximum of £60.

* Please call 020 7737 7303 for separate quotes on deliveries to Cornwall, N. Wales, Scotland, Highlands & Islands, N. Ireland, Eire and the Continent, which will be charged at cost.
** For deliveries to Central London, we reserve the right to charge on the Congestion Charge (if applicable) and any parking fees. If your child's bedroom is up several floors, it may take us a little longer to install it.
