How to order

Phone us: call between 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday on: 020 7737 7303. Out of hours, if you hear a voice message, don't be put off - your request will be dealt with swiftly.

Web: send us your order requirements via the 'shopping basket' facility on the website. This will compile orders accurately for you.  When the order is through, we'll call or email to discuss a timed delivery within a standard 3 – 6 week period.  If your item of furniture is 'in production' at the time of order, the outside lead time can extend to 10 weeks – we will inform you if this is the case.

Payment terms

  • All goods must be paid for in full prior to delivery.  A 30% deposit is required to hold goods that may be delivered outside the 3 – 6 week standard delivery period.

  • We are happy to accept cheques and direct transfers. Cheques should be made out to 'The Children's Furniture Company Europe Ltd' and sent to 17 Trent Road, London, SW2 5BJ and for direct transfers, our bank details will be on your Order Confirmation.  You can specify your choice at check out on the website.

  • We use PayPal for on-line payments.  This facility provides a secure payment method and means we don't take or hold any credit card details.  You can either use your PayPal account if you have one, or put through any major credit card including MasterCard, Visa and Amex.  If you prefer to order over the phone, we'll take down your order, email it back to you and send a 'request for payment' via PayPal, which again will accept all major credit cards.

  • For bespoke painted items from the Sugar & Spice range, once you have approved the colour sample we send out and the bespoke piece is underway in the spray shop, the order cannot be refunded.

Faults/Returns policy

In the unlikely event that there are any faults with your furniture, please call us immediately on 0207737 7303 if you spot it at the time of delivery.  We can then either take it away and replace it; suggest that you hold on to it until we replace it; or refund you in full if you prefer. Faults not spotted at the time of delivery must be notified to us within 7 days for the same terms as above to apply and a photograph of the fault and packaging should be sent to sale@thechildrensfurniturecompany.com to determine next steps.  We reserve the right to delay refunding payment for returned goods until they are safely back with us and have been checked in.

If you simply change your mind when the furniture arrives and don't want it, we will take it back and give you a refund, excluding the original cost of delivery and assembly. You must notify us within 10 days for the above to apply and we reserve the right to charge a collection fee of £60.

For the natural wooden products, note that whilst we try to ensure that the tonality of wood matches across products, different trees used in the manufacture may mean the end products vary slightly. Small knots in the wood are part of its character and not considered a fault. In addition, wood naturally changes colour over time and if and when you add to your range the colour of the wood does not initially match, it will mellow with time.

Please note that for hygiene reasons mattresses that have been unwrapped, cannot be returned.

Assembly

Many pieces from our exclusive furniture ranges, such as chests, desks, bookcases and bedsides, already arrive assembled.  Beds, bunks, truckles and cabin beds of course need to be assembled in the home. If you choose the assembly option, these pieces will be professionally put together for you and all the wrappings taken away, leaving the furniture correctly assembled and ready for use.  Wardrobes come either partially assembled or flat pack - this is because children's rooms are often at the top of the house and wardrobes can be too heavy to lift when fully assembled.

The assembly service is available to you within all the postcodes* we deliver to ourselves.

*The home assembly service does not extend to outlying postcodes including postal areas: AB, BT, DD, FK, HS, IV, KA, KY, KW, PA, PH, N.Ireland, Highlands & Islands and Europe.

 

Prices

All prices on the website include VAT.  Whilst we try to maintain any printed prices, these may vary over the life time of printed materials. Always check the web.

Delivery Service

Timing:
We expect all items to be dispatched within 3 – 6 weeks.  If the item is temporarily out of stock, we will let you know timings.

Our delivery team will call in advance to arrange a suitable day and provide a 2 – 3 hour window, so do make a note in your diary.  If, once you have agreed the day, you simply can't make it, please give us 2 days notice and we will reschedule.  We reserve the right to make a charge of £50 if you cancel/change an agreed delivery slot after that.

What to expect:
As much of the furniture we design arrives to you assembled, we always provide a 'two man' delivery service to carry the furniture inside for you.  Within the cost of delivery the chaps (it usually is chaps) will place the item(s) where you want in the room of your choice.  If you have chosen the assembly service, the bed or bunk will be expertly put together and then all the wrappings for the beds and any other items will be taken away at the same time .

If you live abroad:
We are happy to send furniture abroad and will seek to find the most cost effective route to you.  Call on +44 207737 7303 for a quotation.  Countries outside the EU do not attract VAT and we can take this off for you at point of purchase – we just need a shipping notification.

Privacy Policy

We keep a database of customer details with address, phone number and email – whether you have ordered from us or just requested a brochure. Please let us know if you wish to be taken off our lists at any time.

From time to time we may email or mail you with special offers and/or send a new brochure, but we DO NOT sell or give away address information to any other business.

We work with secure on-line payment systems in order that your financial details are kept safe once a purchase has been made.

Design Specification

Our policy of constant design improvement means we reserve the right to change specifications. Please be aware that colours can vary very slightly between batches, runners and general hardware may change. Always ask for samples if in doubt. Sizes are given to the nearest 'cm' and may also differ slightly from those printed.
