In natural beech and beech veneers, it’s a pretty grown-up bed, two metres long and over a metre wide. But notice these important concessions to childhood: safe rounded edges, bespoke metalwork and a choice of six interchangeable headboard and footboard engravings. Plain panels are available to buy separately - at 13 he might not want the trains! You can always buy another bed, ladder and safety rails and turn it into a bunk later. A safety rail is available for this bed if required.
